About me

who am i

Introduction

I am Nóra Petneházy, complex well-being expert, rehabilitation specialist, lifestyle and nutrition consultant, personal trainer, senior trainer, university lecturer and researcher. My goal has always been to be able to interpret health in its entirety, holistically, and improve it with the tools of evidence-based science. All this expertise practiced with humanity, full attention, maximum kindness, and the power of a positive mindset.

I have decided to bring home the knowledge I have acquired studying and working abroad and to offer my services in Hungary too. I hope this lifestyle intervention treatment will spread so widely that I can invite other professionals at the service of Complex Health Promotion so that as many Hungarians can experience what it's like when they are the centre of attention with their health issues and recovery priorities. I always focus on personal goals regarding treatments rather than what is written in the "Big Book!".

Profession

My professional journey and international experiences

I obtained my first degree (Bsc) at Eötvös Loránd University, Faculty of Pedagogy and Psychology, as a recreation manager and health promotion expert. Then I continued my studies on a master level (Msc) at the University of Debrecen, Faculty of Public Health, where I graduated as a complex rehabilitation specialist, while I was already working at the Buda Health Center/National Spinal Care Center. During my studies in Debrecen, I received a scholarship to study in the United States. Therefore, I continued my studies at the University of Northern Colorado in the United States, in Colorado, where I could learn and experience the patient-centred medicine and health promotion, which was completely different from the system I was used to. After obtaining my master's degree, I continued my work in the private hospital in Budapest. I did not stop seeking new learning opportunities. I obtained the qualifications of senior trainer, Otago exercise program instructor, healthy lifestyle and nutrition consultant, and personal trainer.

Henceforth, I noticed that evidence-based science could be used much more actively in health promotion because there is a lot of false and fake scientific information circulating on the Internet. I wanted the knowledge to be able to assess this information. This is why I began my doctoral studies (PhD) at ELTE's Institute of Health Promotion and Sports Science, where I graduated four years later in 2023. In my last year, I had the great honour of being awarded one of the most prestigious academic scholarships, the Fulbright scholarship, hence in 2023 I had the opportunity to work as a researcher at the California Pacific Medical Centre, Research Institute, University of California, San Francisco. Here I learned research methodology, high-level patient care and research planning, which made it increasingly clear that so much innovation could be brought to Hungary in the field of health promotion and patient care. I have also worked at ELTE as an external university lecturer for 5 years now, where I can pass on the knowledge acquired in the States to the new generations of university students, along with the American teaching methodology which has been a remarkable success so far based on my students' feedback (see some of them on my LinkedIn page).
